Mr. Stein’s distinguished career includes CEO and CFO roles for regional healthcare systems, and extensive experience serving on the Board of Directors for various healthcare organizations. Most recently, as CEO of Florida-based University Community Health for over twenty years, Mr. Stein was responsible for administering this 800 bed, 5 hospital network with revenues exceeding $750 million.

During his tenure Mr. Stein led the initiative to open Pepin Heart Hospital, a specialty research facility specializing in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. He also created two physician integrated management arrangements, for cardiovascular and orthopedic care, installed a fully integrated clinical information system at multiple locations, and collaborated with the Studer Institute to implement a Leadership Development/Patient Service Program.

Prior to his role as CEO, Mr. Stein administered the financial services for a large healthcare organization where he established a flexible, zero-based budget system. He also successfully executed multiple bond offerings with compliance to all debt covenants.

Rounding out his career, Mr. Stein chaired the VHASE region, representing over 30 not-for-profit healthcare organizations, where he developed a new supply chain corporation providing regional planning for large purchasing commitments. He has also been regionally involved in planning and development of new healthcare institutions and various community leadership roles.
